CAMPBELL – (Isle of Skye). (Formerly of Wades Road, Inverlochy). Peacefully at Broadford Hospital on Saturday, January 5, 2019 Margaret (Rita) aged 81 years. Loving wife of the late David Walter, dear mother of Finlay, Susan and Janet, mother-in-law of Murdo, much loved granny of Murdo, Shona, Kirstie and Lorna, grandmother-in-law of Gordie and great-granny of Jessie. Funeral service at the Church of Scotland, Kensaleyre at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11, thereafter to Skeabost cemetery. Family flowers only. All welcome.
FORBES – Peacefully at home on December 30, 2018 Michael Robert (Mike), loving husband of grace, dear father of Robert, Alan, Jamie and Michael, proud grandfather of Andrew, Matthew and Christian. Funeral will take place at St Modan’s Church, Benderloch on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 1pm. Thereafter Pennyfuir cemetery. Family flowers only. Retiring collection for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Dove Centre.
GALBRAITH – Peacefully, at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, on December 25, 2018 in her 94th year, Lorne Galbraith (née MacIntyre), of 6 Achagoil, Minard. Much loved mother of Douglas, Alastair and Colin, and dearly loved mother-in-law and nana. Funeral service was held at Cumlodden Parish Church, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 followed by interment at Kilevin Cemetery. Sadly missed.
HARRISON – Catriona (Catherine Christina), (née McDougall), aged 85 years, of Allanmyo, Minard, Argyll, passed away peacefully with family, on Friday, December 28, 2018. Wife of the late Thomas Harrison, much loved mother of Ann and Kathleen, grandmother of Alasdair and sister to Ian. The family would like to thank all the Care Service who supported Catriona’s wish to remain in her own home. Funeral service will be held from ‘Allanmyo’, Minard, Argyll on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11.00 am, thereafter to Kilevin Cemetery. Family Flowers only. Donations, if desired, to The Red Cross.
HILL – Peacefully at her home surrounded by family, on January 8, 2019, in her 97th year, May, beloved wife (for 70 years) of the late Jimmy Hill, a devoted mum, granny and gran gran. Funeral will take place at Oban Parish Church, Glencruitten Road, Oban on Wednesday, January 16 at 11.00 am thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
HENDY – Peacefully, on Monday, January 7, 2019, Margaret MacInnes Hendy, aged 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Brian and a much loved mum, granny and great-granny. Funeral Service will be held in private, later next week.
MACINNES – Peacefully at the Beatson, after a brave battle on December 26, 2018, Craig, beloved husband of Jacklyn, cherished son of Jessie and Alastair and much loved brother of Iain. Loving grandson of the late Rachel and John (Iain) Gillies, formerly of Airds Bay, Taynuilt. Sadly missed.
MACPHEE – Donald Angus (age 87). Formerly of Bonawe. Peacefully at The New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Much loved dad of Catriona, Donna and Janice, father-in-law to John, Paul, and Charlie, granda to Paul, Kirsty, Gillian, Sarah, Calum, Scott and Lori. Funeral service at Craigton Crematorium on Friday, January 11, at 3.30pm. Donations to Alzheimer’s Scotland are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
McDONALD – (née McCulloch). Janet (Jen). Oban / Musselburgh. Peacefully in the loving care of Crookston Care Home after a long battle with Parkinsons, on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Jen, beloved wife of the late Bert, much loved mum of Ellen and Gordon. Loving mother-in-law, proud gran and great grandma. A service will be held at Seafield crematorium on Thursday January 17 at 10am to which all are welcome. Family flowers only, please.
McKECHNIE – Peacefully in Gortanvogie on January 6, 2018, Mary (née Baker) aged 96 years, beloved wife of the late Angus and loving mother of John Angus and Mairi and much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral service in Portnahaven Church, Islay at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Dearly missed by all family and friends.
MITCHELL – Peacefully at his home in Oban on December 22, 2018 and in his 88th year, Robert (Bob) Mitchell, beloved husband of the late Margaret (Moira) Mitchell, much loved dad of the late Robert (Bobby), Malcolm, Marie, Colin and Debbie and much loved grandad and pop to James, Lisa, late Margaret Louise, Ryan, Aleesha, Graeme, the late Robert, Craig, Amanda, late Laura, Kyle and Rhona. A very special pop pop and great grandad to Rowan, Isla, Aspen and Gene. Will be sadly missed by all.
ROBERTSON – Sadly, on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at home, after a short illness, aged 80, Anne (née MacLennan), beloved wife of Phil and much loved mum of John, Karen and Lesley and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral will take place on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Kilchattan Church, Isle of Luing at 1 p.m., thereafter to Kilchattan Cemetery. Retiral collection/donations will be taken for the Tearfund.
STEVEN – Douglas. (Edinburgh/Kilchoan). Peacefully on January 3, 2019, after a short illness, Douglas, beloved husband of the late Irene, loving father to Martin and the late Timothy. Proud papa to Jamie, Matthew, Gregor, Sandy and Iain and great-grandfather to Josh and Elle. Formerly QS with Miller Construction. A service is to be held at Mortonhall Crematorium Pentland Chapel on Thursday, January 17 at 12.30pm.
MUNRO – Danny, Margaret, Gerald and Evelyn would like to sincerely thank all family and friends for joining them in the Memorial Service for their loving son and brother who sadly died suddenly in Denmark. Grateful thanks for the very many kind expressions of sympathy received personally and by card. Heartfelt thanks to Fr Danny Convery for a very comforting service, organist Margaret, Frank for his assistance, John who delivered a tribute in Allan’s memory and James who recorded the service for Allan’s family in Denmark. Thanks to McLellan’s Funeral Directors for their guidance and to the Bridge Cafe for the excellent catering following the service. Finally, thanks to all who generously donated £474 to Mary’s Meals.
PATERSON – Archie and family, Hazelann and Paul, would like to thank most sincerely all who sympathised with the loss of my wife Hazel who died on December 17, 2018. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and well wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, services and burial and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time, for those who travelled distances, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolence as well as charitable donations we are very grateful. A special word of thanks to Moss Park Nursing Home, all Hazel’s private carers while she was at home, Tweeddale Surgery Doctors, Belford Hospital for her many stays there, Father Roddy, Father Donald, Monsignor Wynne, Deacon Wynne, Ann Marie Steele, Catriona Steele, Kate Steele, Catherine Maxwell, Craig Gardiner, St Mary’s Choir, Jamie and all his staff at McFall Undertakers. A sum of £654.06 was collected at St Mary’s for Moss Park Resident’s Fund.
CAMPBELL – With love we remember Chrissie Campbell, who died January 12, 2004, aged 65 years. A dearly loved wife, mum and gran.
