At about 1.30pm on Thursday January 3, at Tesco in Oban, a man aged 63  stole a number of items. Police attended and the man was charged and issued with a recorded police warning.

Urinating in public

At about 1.30am on Sunday January 6, in Stevenson Street, Oban, a man aged 20 urinated in the street. Police attended and the man was charged issued and with a recorded police warning.

Drunk in charge of vehicle

At about 8am on Sunday January 6, at McKelvie Road, Oban, a man aged 23 was arrested for being found in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle was also not insured and not registered for road use. The man was later charged and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Damage to telegraph pole

At about 3am on Sunday January 6, on the A85 near Taynuilt, an unknown vehicle collided with a BT telegraph pole causing damage and disrupting communication services. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and report the incident.

Theft of purse

About 10.20am on Monday January 7, at Tesco in Oban, a woman’s purse was stolen from the bag packing area. Police are investigating the incident.
