This year’s Lochaber Music School Christmas Concert takes place on Sunday afternoon (December 16) at 3pm in St Margaret’s Church, Roy Bridge. A new feature is the recently installed lighting which beautifully illuminates the stunning timber ceiling. The audience will hear choral, orchestral, ensemble and solo items performed by Music School’s talented young musicians and singers – and handbell ringers. The concert is about an hour long and will be followed by the raffle and refreshments in the village hall, next door to the church. All monies raised will help fund classes for the Music School’s pupils during the coming year. Admission is £6 for adults but free for school-aged children.

Staff and volunteers from Caol-based Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will visit Abbeyfield Care Home in Ballachulish on Monday, December 17. From 10.30am to 12.30pm the LSC representatives will be there to offer help and advice to anyone living with a sight loss or hearing loss, residents and members of the public. The team will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tube and maintain the hearing aids. Appointments are not necessary for this free service.
