LEE – Peacefully, at home after a long illness on Saturday, December 8, 2018, Eric Lee, aged 88 years. A loving husband of Angela, much loved dad and grandad. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Duncansburgh-MacIntosh Parish Church; thereafter to Inverness Crematorium. Casual attire, no black ties. McLACHLAN – (née MacQueen). Peacefully, on December 11, 2018, at North Argyll House, in her 102nd year, Myra, wife of the late Archie MacCallum and much loved sister, aunt and great aunt. A graveside service will take place at Pennyfuir Cemetery on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11.00am, where all friends are respectfully invited to attend.
McSHANE – Flora Catherine, née Matheson. Flora passed away peacefully in Alexander Nursing Home, Poulton on Saturday December 8, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frank and dearly loved aunt, cousin and sister-in-laws, Elizabeth, Ellen, Joan and Elespeth. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral service to take place at United Reformed Church, Rossall Road, Cleveleys, FY5 1DX at 1.30pm on Thursday December 20. A family service to follow at Lytham Park Crematorium at 3pm. SALMON – Tony Salmon, Kilchrenan died on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban. Tony had battled cancer for the last year but it was much more aggressive than originally thought. He slipped away quietly in his sleep and was kept comfortable by the nursing staff. His funeral will take place at The Argyllshire Gathering Halls, Breadalbane Street, Oban on Thursday, December 20 at 1.00 pm, thereafter a woodland burial at Pennyfuir Cemetery. All friends are respectfully invited to attend. No flowers please. Retiring collection/donations if desired for Cancer Research and Macmillan Day Bed Unit, Oban.
KIRSOP – Mairi and family would like to thank all relatives and friends for their support, many cards, personal visits and expressions of sympathy following the sad loss of Tom, a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and Grampy, brother and uncle, a good citizen. MACLEOD – The family of the late Alistair MacLeod would like to express their sincere appreciation to all for the kindness and sympathy. The retiral collection raised the sum of £1000. Special thanks to D&A Munn’s, Donald MacKinnon, Police Scotland and the Falls of Lora.
RONALD – Mabel and family thank all friends, neighbours and relations for their help and support following the sudden death of Fulton, our beloved husband, dad, father in law and papa. Grateful thanks to Rev. Dr Russel Moffat and Right Rev. John Richardson for their kind and amusing service and eulogy. We are overwhelmed by the number of cards, flowers, visitors and care shown to us all. We appreciate each and every one. Kevin from Andrew Anderson was a great prop and gave a smooth and efficient service. Thank you, Raymond Kennedy, for piping us towards Fulton`s resting place. Church door collection came to £1700 for Killin care home and Strathfillan kirk session. Special thanks to the staff at Capercaillie and emergency services who did their best to help Fulton immediately, your efforts were much appreciated. The Rod and Reel, Crianlarich gave a grand service in Crianlarich Hall.
SEATON – Gordon and Sarah wish to thank most sincerely family, friends and neighbours for their kindness, support, cards, letters, messages, phone calls and flowers following the sad loss of Moira, all of which have been a great comfort to us. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Abbeyfield, Ballachulish for their wonderful care over the last year. Special thanks to Ian and staff at D & A Munn for their efficient and caring funeral arrangements, Rev Dugald Cameron for his comforting service, Ken Moncrieff for playing the organ, Moreen Gracie for the beautiful flowers and Oban Gaelic Choir for singing so beautifully at the church and to Michael and staff at the Falls of Lora Hotel. Finally thank you to all who paid their last respects at the church and Achnaba, and for the generous donations to the sum of £870 which was collected for Abbeyfield, Ballachulish and North Argyll Carers Centre.
