It is definitely winter now, and what better way to cosy up at lunchtime than a lovely bowl of homemade soup from An Tobar Veggie Café?

Always vegan/dairy-free and paired with seedy, granary bread from Tobermory Bakery, or gluten-free oatcakes. Visit the café on Wednesdays and you will find freshly baked cheese scones too, as well as one of our mid-week curries or spicy specials.

Its seasonal range of delicious cakes are served all day and perfect with a cup of coffee, leaf tea, or even a warming Mumbai railway chai. Staff have a new rhubarb soda on the menu too, naturally sweet and slightly sparkling.

An eclectic selection of music on the stereo and the most chilled-out atmosphere in Tobermory, with 10 per cent off for Comar members, An Tobar is the place to be!

Members can enjoy 10 per cent off in the shop too. Discover the perfect gift from our range of tea-ware, children’s books, creative games, sketchpads, CDs and vinyl albums. Our unique café tea towels, aprons and cookbooks are available individually or in NEW gift sets. With a selection of local crafts and artwork available to buy, as well as theatre tokens, you can easily be encouraged to ‘shop local’.

I’d like to say a big thanks to our café and front of house team this year, who all worked very hard and helped to secure us another certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor (with some amazing feedback from customers old and new) Leah Goodwin, Dexter Govan, Rebekah Maclean, Emma Retson, Jack Robb, Vicki Faye Stevens, Alison Wells, Patsy Young and, of course, Fiona Henderson… thank you!

An Tobar will close for a short break from Sunday Dcecember 23 until the end of January 2019, for much-needed building and maintenance work. Then the preparations for a new season begin. If you have a passion for the arts and would like to join our team next year, contact me on ester@comar.co.uk, or pop in and say hello.
