Merry Wells (P3) from Banavie Primary School; Kyle Mackintosh (P2 of St Columba’s Primary and Freja Neilson of the Gaelic Primary School got a cheer as they turned on the lights for 2018.

The event was also a fundraising event and saw a fantastic £364.75 collected for the local Star for Harris charity.

The money will go towards funding a Christmas celebration for oncology patients in Edinburgh.

Morrison’s supermarket in Fort William donated a huge amount of drinks and snacks and people also contributed home-baking.
