Nevis Radio is hosting the Christmas Gathering in Fort William tomorrow (Friday November 23) in Cameron Square. From 5.45pm until 8.30pm there will be live music, late night shopping, Santa’s Grotto and more, with the Christmas Lights switch on at 6pm.

A Beetle Drive is being held on Friday November 23 at Nether Lochaber Village hall, 6.30pm for 7pm, to raise money for Nether Lochaber senior citizens.

Fort William and District Branch of Royal British Legion Scotland’s branch potted sports evening will take place at Sunny’s Bar at 7pm today (Thursday November 22).

Santa’s Sleigh and Cairngorm Reindeer Parade will take place on Saturday, November 24, from 11am at Cameron Square, Fort William, and on to the Nevis Centre.

Lochaber Rotary Club’s Christmas Festival will be held at the Nevis Centre this Saturday (November 24) from 9.30am to 4.30pm where there will be a craft and food producers fair, buskers corner, bouncy castle and Santa’s Grotto.

Kilmallie Community Centre is holding a grand ceilidh in aid of Bun-Sgoil Ghaidhlig Loch Abar and the community centre on Saturday November 24. The event runs from 7.30-11.30pm and music will be supplied by a range of artists, including the Bruce Lindsay Scottish Dance Band and Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band, plus singers Norman MacKinnon, Donald Angie Matheson, Ruaridh Grey and Joyce Wright. Admission £8.

Fort William board mania has four more games days planned before Christmas at the LAD Cafe in Caol. These are on Sunday November 25, Sunday December 9 and Sunday 16 from 2-4pm each day. This is a children’s table top games club, with lots of old and new games to try. Entry is £2 per child with a responsible adult staying and participating.

Lochaber Piping Society AGM will be held on Monday November 26 at
7.30pm in The Alexandria Hotel, Fort William.

Fort William Photographic Society’s next meeting is on Tuesday November 27 at 7pm in the Salvation Army hall.  Bring photos you would like to discuss, improve and analyse, or any camera queries.  New members welcome.

Ballachulish Hall will host its popular Christmas Market and Santa’s Grotto on Sunday, November 25, from noon-4pm. Lots of ideas for great stocking fillers and presents. Entry is free to the market; £2 entry for Santa’s Grotto and donations on the day will go towards the Royal British Legion.

Nether Lochaber Community Association will holds its first AGM on Tuesday November 27, at 7pm in the village hall.

Lochaber Foodbank will hold its annual collection in the Tesco store in Fort William November 29/30 and December 1, from 10am till 4pm each day. Foodbank volunteers will be there for the collections, and all food and money collected stays in the area to help the local communities.

Kilmallie Community Centre is holding its annual general meeting on Thursday November 29 at the hall in Corpach at 6.30pm.

The West Highland Museum’s Saturday Club are holding a fun-filled Christmas children’s event at the museum on Saturday December 1, suitable for six to 12-year-olds. The event is free and no need to book.

Lochaber Camanachd Club is hosting its AGM on Saturday December 8 in the Bridge Cafe, Spean Bridge at 4pm.  All players, members, supporters or anyone interested in shinty are welcome.

Kilmallie Community Centre is holding its Christmas Fayre on Saturday December 8 from 11am to 3pm. Tables are £8 each and to book a table contact the centre manager on 01397 600111. All proceeds will be put towards the continued upgrading of Kilmallie Community Centre.
