MAIN – Stephen and Gemma (née McMaster) are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Katie Rae, on October 18, 2018. Wee sister for Ellie, second granddaughter for Matthew and Morven, Oban and Colin and Brenda, Aberdeen.


SLEEMAN – Suddenly, but peacefully on October 28, 2018 at home at Bowman Court, Craignure, Diana Sleeman, aged 82. Will be sadly missed. Funeral to be held at Salen Church on Thursday, November 15 at 11.30am. All welcome. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Tobermory Church.


MACDONALD – Allison, Allan and family wish to thank all for the kind expressions of sympathy shown to them at the sad loss of Annie. Our grateful thanks to the Reverend Neil MacGregor, Ian Esslemont and staff of Ian Esslemont Funeral Services, the Castle Hotel, Huntly and R. Barron & Son Florist. Sincere thanks to the staff at Balhousie Care Home Huntly for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Annie and John.

MACGILLIVRAY – John, Teen and all the family would like to sincerely thank everyone for their kindness and messages of support following the sad loss of their mother, Mary. Special thanks to the Rev. Fiona Ogg for such a comforting service and to Ella Gill, organist. To Campbell Brown, accordionist, for such lovely tunes at the service. To Kilchoan nurses and carers for such devotion and compassion prior to Mary going into long term care. To all the staff of Invernevis House, Fort William for their love and care to Mary. Warm thanks to all the staff at Kilchoan Community Centre for both the funeral service and excellent catering. To Scott and Linnie at John McLellan Funeral Directors for their professionalism, care and assistance with the funeral arrangements. To McDonald Brothers, Inverlochy for the beautiful flowers. To Calum MacColl for such fitting pipe tunes at the graveside, and to everyone who came along to pay their last respects to Mary. The retiral collection raised the sum of £421.39 to be split between Kilchoan Nurses Resource Fund and Invernevis House.

RODGERS – Cathy and family would like to thank everyone for their gestures of support following the loss of our dearly loved, husband, dad, father-in-law and granda. Warm thanks to Catriona Hoey and staff for efficient and caring funeral arrangements, Petals for beautiful floral tributes, Rev. Chris Fulcher for a beautiful service, Gary McEwan for piping at graveside and all who paid their last respects at the church and Achnaba. Very special thanks to Aeltsje and staff of Macmillan Day Bed Unit, district nurses, Marie Curie nurse and Gaynor Wotherspoon who all made it possible to have Ian at home with us. The sum of £600 was raised in collection for Macmillan Day Bed Unit, Oban. Thanks also to the Royal Hotel for catering. Ian will be very sorely missed by us all.
