This weekend is a big one in the Oban calendar with the switch-on of the Christmas lights.
The hugely popular annual event will be preceded on Saturday by the reindeer parade – complete with Santa in attendance – from the Corran Halls to Station Square.
The procession, sponsored by BID4Oban, heads off at 5pm, with the festive illuminations being turned on at 6pm.
Saturday’s family fun is all part of the eighth annual Oban Winter Festival, which kicks off tomorrow (Friday November 16) with a varied programme of events aimed at people of all ages.
There are dressed-up shop windows, live music gigs, exhibitions, late-night shopping, arts, crafts, pipers, parades, competitions and more spread across 10 days and culminating on Sunday November 25 with the finale, The Big Racket.
That will see a parade led by Oban High School Pipe Band leave the Corran Halls and make its way to the distillery, with brilliant pyrotechnics in the fireworks display at 7pm.
