BLACK – Peacefully, at the Kintyre Care Home, Campbeltown, on October 31, 2018, Duncan Black, in his 95th year, formerly of Smith Drive, beloved husband of the late Barbara McMillan, much loved dad of Jenny and Duncan, loving pop of Karen, Colin, Catherine and Archie and an adored great granda.
CAMPBELL – (Lossiemouth). Suddenly but peacefully, at ARI, on Thursday, November 1, 2018, James (Jim), aged 76 years, of Dunlossit, 4 Inchbroom Avenue, darling husband of Isabel, much loved dad of Brian and Darren, father-in-law of Marie and Mayanne, adored papa of Tayne and Jade and Stephanie and Alex, dear brother and uncle and a good friend to many. Funeral service, to which all friends are respectfully invited, in St. Gerardine’s High Church, Lossiemouth, on Friday, November 9, at 1.30p.m., thereafter to Lossiemouth Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired, may be given at the service, to Lossiemouth Fisheries Museum and British Heart Foundation.
CASSELS – Kenneth Alexander Home Cassels, the late of Craigdarroch, Isle of Coll, and Little Stonnards, died peacefully at home aged 99, surrounded by family and friends. He was husband of the late Barbara, and much loved father, grandfather and great grandfather. The funeral will take place at 11.30am on November 19 at All Saints’ Church, Wimbish. FINDLAY – Sadly after a short illness on Sunday November 4, 2018 at Oban Hospital, Mrs Margaret (Peggy) Findlay, beloved wife of J. Findlay. Sadly missed by relatives and friends.
KIRK – Margaret, much loved fiancée of David Williams, both retired to Argyll from Glasgow, died on November 3, 2018, aged 67 years. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 13 at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls, Oban at 1pm, followed by interment at Pennyfuir Cemetery, Oban. Family flowers only, but any donations in lieu of flowers to Mary`s Meals.
KIRSOP – Thomas Allan. Peacefully at Abbeyfield Nursing Home, Ballachulish on November 2, 2018 with his family by his side. Devoted husband to Mairi, loving dad to Allan, Donalda, Mairi and Tom, much loved father-in-law and Grampy to nine. Funeral to be held on Friday, November 9 in Nether Lochaber Church, Onich at 12 noon followed by interment in Innis na Birlinn Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. ROSS – Sarah Helen Ross (née Reffin), born January 21, 1929. Late of Taynuilt, Argyll. Peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Wishaw. Beloved wife of Robert and devoted mother of John, Lynda, Janet, Robert and Peter. Adored by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laid to rest at Biggar. Forever at peace.

CAMERON – Kathleen, Maureen, Robbie and Carolyn, warmly thank everyone for their support and kindness, also for the cards, letters, homebaking and flowers following the sad and unexpected loss of Sandra. To our friends in Alvor, Portugal – Magia, Sandra and Paulo of the Vagabondo restaurant and also Marcelo, who all looked after Kathleen so well. Thanks also to the indomitable Louise Tighe and her friends who also took care of Kathleen in Alvor. Thanks also to the Rev. Malcolm Kinnear for a comforting service and Mary Ducker for the beautiful flowers in Church. To Beth, Jamie and staff of McFall’s for all their help and kindness and to all those who filled the church in honour of our beloved Sandra, we thank you all. She will never be forgotten. The sum of £930 was collected and will be split between Talk Lochaber and Munlochy Animal Aid.
FORBES – Margaret, Christine, Iain and Lorna thank most sincerely family, friends and neighbours for their kindness, support, cards, letters, phone calls and flowers following the sad loss of Harry, a devoted husband, father, father-in-law and grandpa. Special thanks to Dr Ewan Glen, Dr Chuma, nurses and receptionists at the Lorn Medical Centre. Thanks to the ambulance crew and to Colin and Danny for their compassion. To Catriona and staff at Hamish Hoey for sensitive and efficient funeral arrangements. To Donald MacKinnon for a warm sincere and comforting service and to Andy Henderson, organist. Thank you to all who paid their last respects at the church and graveside and to Michael and staff at The Falls of Lora Hotel. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone. The retiral collection raised £1604.64 for the Oban Branch of the RNLI.
MACCORMICK – Linda and Kate and their families would like to sincerely thank everyone for visits, flowers, cards, messages and phone calls which have been a great comfort following the sad loss of their mum, Mary. Special thanks to the Rev Margaret Miller for her support and a warm and compassionate funeral service at Lismore Parish Church; many thanks to Duncan Gunn for efficient and sensitive funeral arrangements, to Anne Livingstone for playing the organ and to cousin, Ronald Black, for piping. Huge thanks to Kiki MacColl and her able team of assistants for providing a fantastic spread and excellent service at Lismore Hall, thanks also to the islanders who donated home baking which was very much appreciated. Finally, thanks to all friends and family who helped out with additional funeral roles, to everyone who travelled from near and far to attend and for generous donations to the sum of £715 which was collected for Oban Lifeboat.
MITCHELL (JOHNSTON) – Brenda, Margaret and families wish to thank most sincerely all family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following the sad loss of their mother, Margaret.
