The A82 Partnership is ‘strongly requesting’ that a proposed closure of a stretch of the A82 road later this month to allow for roadworks should be reconsidered due to what it calls the ‘extreme’ diversion required.

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is proposing to undertake what it says is £70,000 of essential carriageway improvement works on the stretch of road at Gollanfield.

The resurfacing works are programmed for construction between Sunday November 25 and Tuesday November 27. BEAR Scotland says these works will be carried out overnight between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

During the periods of road closure, a signed diversion will be in place via A85/A9/A86.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, the works will be carried out under a road closure each night.

Outside of the working hours (7pm-7am) temporary traffic management will be removed, however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface.
