Seil’s Stefanie Anderson has won a top bartender contest.

This summer, Stefanie who works at Bon Vivant in Edinburgh, beat stiff competition from as far away as London to be crowned winner of the Talisker whisky brand’s Race to Skye bartender competition.

Over the two days of the competition, Stefanie and the other finalists took part in four challenges. These were a mystery test of the skills of each competitor’s discerning nose, palate and distillery knowledge; a cocktail food pairing at Gleneagles Hotel; an ultimate whisky knowledge Mastermind challenge hosted by GB whisky brand ambassador Colin Dunn; and, finally, each bartender had just seven minutes to present their own signature Talisker Made by the Sea cocktail to a panel of judges.

Stefanie, whose family has a farm at Balvicar, said she was ‘delighted to have won’.

Stefanie was also awarded the title of honorary Talisker Ambassador to support the brand’s on-going Made by the Sea campaign showcasing its history and heritage.
