ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
GALLOWAY – Elma and Sandra would like to express their sincere thanks to relatives and friends for the many expressions of sympathy, by way of cards and letters, telephone calls and flowers, received in the recent sad loss of Ella, a much loved mum, mum-in-law, gran, great gran and great great gran. Five generations together in her lifetime. Special thanks to Rev William Crossan and organist David McEwan for their contribution to the service of celebration and thanksgiving at Campbeltown; to Kenneth Blair for his sensitive and efficient handling of funeral arrangements; and to the Ardshiel for the lunch and all their caring hospitality. The family also thank everyone who very generously donated £400 to Mary’s Meals.
ELDER – The family of the late Alasdair John Elder wish to thank most sincerely all relatives, friends, neighbours and work colleagues of Alasdair’s for all the kind expressions of sympathy shown to them in their recent sad loss. Thanks to Dr Rushworth and Dr MacFarlane at Cairn Medical Practice, Mr Coggins, doctors and staff at Ward 4A Raigmore Hospital. Also to Dr Keen, Charge Nurse Susan and other staff at the Highland Hospice for all their kindness shown to Alasdair during his stay there. Thanks to Fr Piotr and Fr Michael MacDonald and all who attended masses in Inverness and South Uist. A collection in Inverness raised £ 254.00 for SSPCA, Inverness. Thanks to CalMac staff on the Uig to Lochmaddy run for their assistance. Thanks to Lachie and staff at the Dark Island Hotel, Benbecula for their excellent catering. Special thanks to Drew Green and Vicki Fraser at John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness and Angus MacPhee at MacPhee Brothers, Benbecula for their professionalism, care and support with all the funeral arrangements in Inverness and South Uist.
MACDONALD – The family of Catherine Cameron Macdonald, known as Kitty, (Glenfinnan) would like to thank all her friends and neighbours for the kindness shown and their messages of condolence following our recent sad loss. Glenfinnan was the community that she felt she belonged to. The community gave so much to her, particularly over her last few years when age and frailty meant she needed help and support. Without it, her life would neither have been so long nor so fulfilling. We are also indebted to the staff at Erskine Home, Bishopton, who looked after her in her final two years. The care, compassion, patience and love they showed to Kitty was boundless, and without this it is doubtful that she would have made it to her 100th birthday in June of this year. Erskine Home is a truly wonderful place and we were very fortunate that she was able to live there. We would also like to thank Bishop Brian McGee for conducting a very moving and comforting service at The Church of St Mary and St Finnan at Glenfinnan and to Scott and Linnie at John McLellan Funeral Directors for their care and help with funeral arrangements. Lastly, thanks to the staff at the Glenfinnan House Hotel for providing catering after the funeral.
MACDONALD – Mary and families would like to thank everyone, families, friends, and neighbours for their cards, messages and support following the death of husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alexander MacDonald. He died peacefully with family by his side on October 15 in Raigmore Hospital Inverness. A very special thanks goes to the nurses in the Coronary Care Unit in Raigmore. Also thank you to the staff at Mike McFall Funeral Directors for support and guidance and to Fr Stan for a lovely Requiem mass. The retiral collection taken amounted to £1050, was divided between Emma’s Fund, Raigmore Coronary Unit and Morar Parish. A sincere thanks to everyone who travelled far and wide to pay their respects to Alex (Baitch).
SCOTT – Campbell. Jacqui, Iain, Fiona, and family would sincerely like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following their recent sad loss. The family would also like to express their thanks to the Stroke Ward at Raigmore Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Campbell and his family during his time there, to Rev Bryson for his comforting service, to David M. Ellen Funeral Directors for their professional and understanding funeral arrangements, to all those who attended the service to pay their last respects, and to those that were unable to attend the funeral service but sent their condolences. The sum of £500 was collected at the service from generous donations and has been sent to the Stroke Ward at Raigmore Hospital.

Special thanks to the nursing and medical staff of the C.A.U, Belford Hospital and ward 9, H.D.U. at Ninewells Hospital for all your care and attention. Thank you to Kim from Glencoe and Ballachulish Florist for the beautiful flower arrangements. Thank you to Rev. Richard Corbett for his comforting service.
