Ardfern’s post office services are to be resumed from Craignish Village Hall one day a week.

The previous service closed temporarily in September 2017 when the postmaster resigned and the premises were withdrawn for Post Office use.

A permanent solution is still being sought, said a Post Office spokesman but for the time being the village hall option, on a Monday from 9am to 11am, means customers can still post letters and parcels, return online shopping and withdraw cash and make use of other banking services.

Angela Smith, area network change manager said: ‘We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

‘We are pleased to be able to reinstate services to Ardfern customers at this temporary unit while we continue to seek a permanent solution.’
