Time was moving quickly at the Rockfield Centre community charity shop last week when a grandfather sold a grandfather clock just minutes after it arrived.
The clock was sold by Kevin Mills, who retired to live in Oban, and who volunteers at the charity shop each week.
He said: ‘I found the whole situation really amusing since this is the first and probably only time I will ever be able to say that, as a grandfather, I had sold a grandfather clock.’
The new owner, Alison Rennie, said she is going to restore the clock and purchased it because she ‘liked the look of it’.
While Oban resident Alison will carry out the work herself, she said: ‘I will need to get local people who can do the woodwork and the glass.’
