South Lochaber Thistle 9 – 0 Carradale

Great Glasgow Premier AFL Division 2

Hat-tricks from Martin Munro and Andrew MacLean secured an emphatic nine-goal victory for South Lochaber Thistle over Kintyre side Carradale, giving them a perfect start to the new league campaign.

After gaining promotion to Division 2 last season, SLT were keen to get off to a good start to the new campaign.

Munro set the tone for the match with a quick brace after three minutes, while Barna Tot made it 3-0 at half-time.

Andrew MacLean got on the scoresheet just aft the break before Munro completed his hat-trick.

Paulo Novotony responded quickly to a spilled save from the Carradale goal from a David Forbes free-kick to put SLT 5-0 up. McLaen then scored two in quick succession to get his second and third for the day.

David Forbes rounded off the scoring in the 85th minute.

The opening day victory gives SLT a dream start to life in the new Division 2 following their promotion from Division 3 last season.
