Children’s Hearings Scotland is recruiting volunteers.

The public body, which is funded by the Scottish Government, exists to help protect the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people in Scotland.

The Children’s Panel in Scotland is made up of around 2,500 specially-trained volunteer panel members from all walks of life, who listen, discuss, and make important decisions at children’s hearings about how best to protect each child or young person in the future.

The organisation is currently recruiting new volunteers for the Highland Children’s Panel – this year it is looking to recruit 50 new volunteer panel members.  There’s no one type of person or background that makes the ideal children’s panel member – if you care about children and can listen then you already have two of the most important qualities required – full training is provided.
