A fishing vessel rescued two people in a small boat near Broadford on Saturday August 4.

The 10ft dinghy had suffered a mechanical failure and was adrift off Irishman’s Point near Broadford.

The Kyle lifeboat crew were paged at 12.33pm to reports of a small boat with two people aboard.

The lifeboat launched at 12.42pm and made best speed towards the vessel. By the time the lifeboat arrived on scene, the dinghy had been taken under tow by the fishing vessel Boy Corrin.

The lifeboat escorted the fishing vessel and the dinghy into Broadford before returning to Kyle.
