Residents in Soroba have thanked the the area’s former caretaker for the work she carried out by gifting her a ‘lovely hamper’.
Before retiring earlier this year, Vivian Ritz helped ensure Soroba was looking its best for more than a decade.
Working for Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA), Vivian also helped at the Ledaig Travelling Persons’ site and in the association’s sheltered housing complexes at Dunmar Court, Oban, and Ford Spence Court, Benderloch.
To say thank you, a collection was placed in Soroba Stores.
Resident Nicola Wilson said: ‘With the generous donations to the collection from Soroba residents, past and present, we managed to gift Vivian a lovely hamper.
‘We hope Vivian enjoys her retirement, she thoroughly deserves it, but she is missed around Soroba.
‘A huge thank you has to be given to Soroba shop for holding the collection and for their donation of a lovely bottle of Prosecco.
‘Also Sheila McIntyre Photography for her donation of the photo frame and coasters, with the beautiful image of Soroba; Button Nose for donating the lovely hamper; Sheila Brown worked her magic and etched some lovely flutes for our gift too.’
Christine Johnston, ACHA’s director of housing and neighbourhood services, said: ‘Vivian was a valued, long-standing member of staff. The work she did in Soroba and in other areas of the town was much appreciated by our tenants and other residents. We wish Vivian well in her retirement.’
