Monday saw 15 men get together in Oban for a ‘cuppa and a chat’, with the aim of helping each other through difficult times.
The first Andy’s Man Club meeting in Oban was deemed ‘absolutely fantastic’ by the organisers.
The club is run by Diarmid ‘Des’ Macmillan and Billy Ferguson, and meets every Monday at 7pm in Oban’s Hope Kitchen.
Des said: ‘Yeah, it was brilliant. [We had] 15 people, so more than expected. Very very positive and honest stuff.’
Alex and Adam, who run the Perth Andy’s Man Club, were in Oban to help with the first meeting.
The pair later posted a video on social media, saying: ‘It was absolutely brilliant. Some amazing shares. Really, really emotional night. I’m absolutely blown away at how many guys actually turned up. All the feedback has been brilliant.
‘The whole of Oban is talking about Andy’s Man Club, which is really powerful stuff. I am really chuffed that people turned up and they will be going out and they will be talking about it. Remember it’s okay to talk and it’s okay to not be okay.’
Des previously added: ‘There’s no pressure to talk, come listen see what we are about.’
Hundreds of people have now liked the Andy’s Man Club Oban Facebook page.
‘If there is anyone who would like to know a little more about what we do, then please send us a message,’ the organisers wrote.
‘Taking that first step is the hardest. Once you have, you have achieved a massive goal.’
