Animal lovers in Lochaber were treated to a frenzied day of canine competition as Fort William played to host the area’s own version of Crufts.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes descended on the Nevis Centre last Tuesday evening as Lochaber and District Canine Society organised its annual companion dog show.

Owners from across Lochaber gathered to see which of their four-legged friends would come out on top in an array of classes and competitions.

Almost all the classes were well attended with a good high level of quality and performance.

Organiser Sarah Holroyd said: ‘Well done to all those who took part in our annual companion dog show on Tuesday. Thanks to your generosity we raised £391.79 for Reach Sled Dog Rescue.

‘Well done to all our entrants, your beautiful dogs, and thank you to all our judges and stewards, our sponsors and all who donated prizes and baking, and our hard working committee behind the scenes.’

Lochaber & District Canine Society was setup to promote responsible dog ownership by teaching owners to train their dogs for everyday life situations by organising puppy training classes and dogs walks throughout the year.
