Lochaber singer and songwriter Mark Lawrie has released his first solo single.
A recent graduate from West Highland College-UHI, where he studied on the NC and HNC Music courses, Mark has been spending his time writing new music ahead of releasing an album in the near future.
His new single, Anymore, is a brand new composition, with all instruments and vocals played and sung by Mark himself.
Mark is well known in the Lochaber area and has been a popular figure on the local pub scene, with his band Cigar Box, and as a solo performer.
He has also been working with local high school pupils delivering the Rockschool programme for West Highland College.
The song is available for download on all digital platforms and a video accompanies the song, and which can be viewed on Mark’s Facebook page – Mark Lawrie Music.
Asked how Anymore came about, Mark explained: ‘This song was about when a relationship hasn’t worked no matter how much we tried and was heading for the same destination in the end, which was the inspiration for the chorus line “we just can’t do this anymore”.
‘I felt that the chorus was just too catchy not to do something with and releasing this as my first solo track was perfect.’
