Dangerous driving

At about 8pm on Sunday May 27, on the A85 near Tyndrum, a blue Yamaha motorcycle was seen to be driven at a dangerous speed. The motorcycle was
stopped and found to have a defective exhaust and registration plate. The
man, 52, who was riding was charged with the offences and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

No licence

At about 6.30am on Monday May 28, on the A85 near Connel, a grey Ford Fiesta crashed into another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a man aged 16, was traced and inquiries revealed he took the vehicle without permission, had driven carelessly and had no licence or insurance. He was arrested, charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Theft from marquee

Between 6pm on Sunday May 27 and 8am on Monday May 28, a marquee at Tobermory Distillery was entered and a pair of shoes and two outdoor jackets were stolen.

Abusive behaviour

At about 1pm on Monday May 28, in a shop in Stafford Street, Oban, a woman aged 51 allegedly behaved in an abusive manner and assaulted another woman. The woman was arrested, charged and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Driver stopped

At about 6.10pm on Monday May 28, on the A816, near Kilninver, a 33-year-old woman who had been driving a car was arrested for drunk driving. She failed to provide a breath specimen at the police station, was charged and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Theft of ship’s wheel

Between 9am on Saturday May 26 and 5pm on Monday May 28, a ship’s helm wheel in a wall-mounted display was stolen from the Puffin Dive Centre, Oban.

Water pump stolen

Between 3pm and 5pm on Tuesday May 29, a 12V portable water pump was stolen from outside a caravan on a building site on Benvoullin Road, Oban.

Vehicle damaged

Between 5pm on Saturday June 2 and 3.40pm on Sunday June 3, in Sunderland Drive, Oban, a red Izuzu pick-up was damaged by having the paintwork scratched.

Car vandalised

About 2.30am on Sunday June 3, in Hill Street, Oban, a red Audi A3 was damaged by having the bonnet dented.

Abusive behaviour

About 11.45am on Sunday June 3, in Connel, Oban, a man aged 25 behaved in an abusive manner. He was arrested, charged, held for court and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Table taken

Between 11am and 4pm on Sunday June 3, a large metal table was stolen from the recycling site at Moleigh.
