The largest Oban Provincial Mòd in recent times will take place this Friday and Saturday.

Children’s events will be held on the Friday, with the adults having their turn on Saturday.

Organiser Duncan MacNeil said: ‘We have a huge amount of entries, much higher than normal. We have taken over the whole of the Corran Halls on Friday.’

Friday’s events will also take place in the Scouts and Cathedral halls, while Saturday’s competitions will be held in the new Oban High School.

Duncan added: ‘We are pleased and impressed by the increase in numbers. There has been a slow increase year on year, but a huge increase this year; it’s the biggest year recently.’
