Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara has cited ‘personal reasons’ for leaving his frontbench post as the SNP’s culture, media and sport spokesperson at Westminster.

Mr O’Hara writes the Courier’s View from Westminster column and was a television producer before being elected as MP in 2015. With Faslane on his doorstep he became the SNP spokesman on defence.

He was re-elected in last year’s general election and given the culture, media and sport role.

Mr O’Hara was replaced by Livingston MP Hannah Bardell who was also elected first in 2015 and previously worked in television.
