A quantity of cannabis, valued at £38,400, was recovered by police during a search of a property in Ard Dorch near Broadford.

Officers from the Portree and Kyle of Lochalsh local policing teams conducted a search of the premises on Saturday April 7 in response to information received from the community.

A quantity of cash worth a low four figure sum was also seized during the operation.

A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with these recoveries and is expected to appear at court at a later date.

Constable Jani Kari-Koskinen, who led this operation, said: ‘Yet again the Skye community has shown its commitment to working with us to remove controlled drugs from our streets and I wish to thank those who shared the information that resulted in this action.

‘There remains no place for drugs in the Skye, Lochalsh and Applecross area and I encourage anyone who has information to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.’
