Firefighters on Tiree are tackling a grass fire near the island’s radar station.
Reports of the fire came into the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 3.10pm today (Thursday, April 12)
Smoke was seen rising into the air from miles around.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Operations Control mobilised one fire engine to land close to Hynish Hill, on the Isle of Tiree.
“Firefighters currently remain on the scene working to extinguish the fire.”
Back-up from the airport’s fire crew has been requested.
