Oban’s furriest celebrity came face to face with a knitted version of himself at the weekend.
Parsley the cat, who has a world-wide fan base, was outside Made In Argyll craft shop on Saturday to see the town’s latest yarn bomb revealed.
Yarn bombs have appeared on bollards near the train station over the past few months, but the identity of the maker has stayed top secret.
Other hand-made yarn bombs keeping the wooly Parsley company include a man in a kilt and film characters Thelma and Louise.
Speaking on behalf of a rather proud Parsley, his owner Fiona Ferris said the popular pet was ‘feline’ most honoured to have a yarn bomb modelled on him.
‘He’s rather impressed – especially by the tail. He says it’s almost as good as the real thing! He’s privileged to be honoured in this way and tempted though he is, he has promised not to have a scratch at the post.’
Parsley was also invited to do the honours and pick a winner from Made In Argyll’s Mother’s day competition after 15 people entered pictures of their lovely mums into a prize draw to win vouchers to spend in the shop.
