A flu and viral outbreak has shut Eadar Glinn care home in Oban.

Health bosses made the decision to shut the home in Dunmore Road to new admissions on Tuesday afternoon as a precaution.

Tests are now being carried out at the 25-bed home and the situation will be reviewed on a daily basis, said a  spokesman for Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership.

‘As a precaution, the Eadar Glinn residential home in Oban has been closed to admissions following an outbreak of flu and viral illness among the residents and staff,’ he said.
