The Oban to Glasgow rail line has been disrupted due to a track defect at Garelochhead.

The 4.37pm service between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban has been cancelled. However, the 6.18pm service between Crianlarich and Oban will go ahead, with a bus running between Glasgow and Crianlarich.

ScotRail posted on social media: ‘We’re operating replacement transport between Glasgow and Crianlarich.

‘Due to urgent repairs to the track being carried out between Garelochhead and Arrochar and Tarbet, the line is closed until the end of the day.’

Engineers remain on site.

ScotRail are urging customers to check their route before setting off. To do so, visit http://www.journeycheck.com/scotrail/
