Busby 4 – 6 South Lochaber Thistle

A half-time tactical change helped turn the match around and seal three points for South Lochaber Thistle in their tie against Busby on Saturday.

Due to the wet and heavy park in Clarkston this match was a never going to be a classic but South Lochaber Thistle were again involved in another high scoring, end-to-end contest.

The first half was grim watching for SLT having been at one point 3-1 down, with individual errors once again dogging their game.

By half time Busby were 4-2 up and looking good for their lead.

A half time change which saw Martin Munro go up front changed the Jags’ fortunes with the more direct long ball service giving SLT a bigger attacking threat on the heavy surface.

A nasty head knock to Darren Duncan gave the management team cause for concern but after being patched up he went back on to finish the game. He has since had eight staples in the head wound and will be out for up to 10 days.

With fifteen minutes to go SLT found themselves 5-4 to the good. Munro eventually got his second goal of the match to make it 6-4, which put the game to bed for the Lochaber side.

Goals from Munro 2, Smith 2, Forbes and Cameron saw SLT make it 12 points out of 12 in the last four games.

Man of the Match: Martin Munro.

Starting XI: Moan, Kennedy, Macleod, Duncan, S.Maclean, R.Maclean (Brown), Forbes, Hendrie, Smith, Munro (c), Cameron (Jamieson).
