Gardeners, florists, craftsmen and bakers gathered at Glengarry Community Hall last week for the village’s annual produce show.

Entrants from around the area impressed the judges with their creative attempts to win the top prizes at the well-attended event.

One show organiser commented: ‘It’s been another smashing year, with entries up on last year and some fabulous flowers on display despite the non-existent summer.’

Cherry Duncan won best exhibit at show, taking home the David MacCallum Memorial Cup. Cherry plans to raffle her prize-winning clown to raise funds for the poppy appeal.

Results: Ardgarry Farm Trophy, garden produce: Ken Brown.

Invergarry Hotel, novelty veg: Ken Brown.

Great Glen Travel, floral award: Neil Stewart.

AN Fraser Photography Trophy: Shannon Stewart.

Seven Heads Shield, preserves and baking: Ann Sandilands.

Beryl Barnes Memorial Cup, arts and crafts: Val Ungless.

Thistle Stop Trophy for floral art: Kate Stewart.

Children’s section overall winner: Elanor Littlewood.

First Fort Augustus Guides Trophy, high school overall winner: Rhianna MaCCallum and Lily Bloom.

David MacCallum Memorial Cup, best exhibit in show: Cherry Duncan.

Overall most points in show: Lorna MacRae.
