A diver reported missing has been found alive.

Islay’s all-weather lifeboat was asked to go to the east coast of Jura last Friday (September 8) to help locate a missing diver.

The Helmut Schroder of Dunlossit 11 launched at 1pm and arrived near Nine Foot Rock, east of Lowlandman’s Bay, at 1.45pm.

However, the rescue helicopter had already located the missing diver who made his way to shore and was assisted up the steep and rocky hill by the local coastguards.

The lifeboat with her crew of seven returned to the station at 3.30pm.
