THE ATLANTIS Leisure five-a-side football league continued at the weekend, with three games taking place.
Last week saw a series of close games. However, players must have looked out their shooting boots at the weekend, as each winning team scored double figures.
Oaklea 4
Inter MilGingerLama 11
This was the first match of the season for Inter and last year’s player of the season Grant Macpherson made sure they started with a resounding victory.
Despite being 3-1 down in the first half, a James Ford inspired performance saw them grab the convincing win and a man of the match award for James.
Menzies Parcels 1
AC Milama 12
After drawing their first match of the season last week, AC
Milama bounced back in excellent fashion with a superb footballing performance, helped by two unfortunate injuries to Menzies leaving them playing with no substitutes.
Martin Bonar was awarded the man of the match after a great box to box display.
Atlantis 10
Cuan Mor 2
After last week’s disappointing defeat, Atlantis again were only able to field a small team due to various commitments.
A good performance saw them pick up the win with man of the match Duncan Campbell scoring several fantastic goals.
