IN A MIXTURE of weather conditions at Mossfield Park, Oban, last Sunday the Macaulay Association held its annual six-a-side tournament.
A total of 25 teams battled it out for the three trophies. The main event for the Ian Cumming Memorial Trophy for Primary 7 and under was won by Bute who beat Inverlochy by two goals to nil in the final.
The Alastair Campbell Shield for Primary 5 and under was won by Inverlochy who defeated Taynuilt by two goals to nil in the final.
The Macaulay Development Cup was won by Dunollie Dynamos from Park School, Oban.
Boy player of the tournament was Robin McAlister from Bute and the girl player of the tournament was Briana Sloss from Taynuilt.
The Macaulay Association would like to thank everyone who helped on the day, Artemis for its continued sponsorship, the ladies who ran the tuck shop and raffle, the referees, the score collectors and all parents and coaches who organised their teams to come to the competition.
Results: Primary 7s – Ian Cumming Memorial Trophy – semi-finals Inverlochy 3, Glasgow Gaels 0; Bute 1, Taynuilt 1, Bute won on penalties. Final – Inverlochy 0, Bute 2.
Primary 5s – Alastair Campbell Shield – semi-finals – Inverlochy 3, Rockfield Rockets 0; Taynuilt 1, Bute 0. Final – Taynuilt 0, Inverlochy 2.
