Dalmally Community Company marked the retirement of one of its longest-serving members with a presentation at its April meeting.
John Burke served as the secretary of the voluntary organisation since its foundation more than 15 years ago, and has also been the treasurer.
Mr Burke’s efforts have impacted many community projects, in particular Dalmally’s now thriving community centre.
‘John was instrumental in gaining the funding for the Dalmally Community Centre, and for managing the cash flow during the building,’ explained Kenny Black, who takes over as secretary. ‘The whole community has benefited from his diligence and perseverance.’
The committee thanked Mr Burke for his efforts and long service, and presented him with a photograph (by local photographer Kenny Gray) of the Dalmally bridge and monument.
