The demolition of the former Dunaros Care Home on the Isle of Mull has been approved by Argyll and Bute Council.

The planning application, submitted by Argyll Properties Ltd, proposes replacing the old Dunaros Care Home and Hospital at Salen with eight houses.

The existing single storey T-shaped building, which dates from the late 1960s, also housed the island’s cottage hospital and served as a care home for eight older people until it closed five years ago when new housing opened at Craignure.
