Kilbrandon SWI members welcomed guest speaker Karen Mackie to Seil Island Hall for their April meeting.
Flower arranging expert Karen demonstrated how to make three different types of arrangements: a round one, a long, low horizontal one and a tall, triangular one.
Karen put these together using foliage members had brought from their gardens as well as shop-bought flowers acquired by the committee.
Then it was the turn of members to have a go.
‘Karen provided us with the equipment to get started – an oasis, container and tape for each member,’ said Patricia McDicken.
‘By the end of the evening we had produced a fantastic selection of floral arrangements, all differing in size and colour. We had a lot of fun and picked up tips from Karen that will be useful in the future. Shona Neil gave the vote of thanks.’
