Fort William’s outdoor nursery Stramash has been crowned runner-up in The Highland Play Award.

Stramash, which provides ‘quality early learning and childcare for two to five year-olds, received £500 towards their project.

Sandra Harrington, chairwoman of the play improvement group at Highland Council, said: ‘We received a large number of high standard entries. The Play Improvement Group enjoyed reading all of the excellent examples of play opportunities being provided in Highland. Because of the high standard of entries and how close the top three were, the group decided to award prizes to two runners-up in recognition of their excellent examples of play.’
