The start of the demolition of the old bowling alley on Shore Street is forcing elderly coach visitors to walk further into town.
At the moment they have a relative risk-free walk though no longer anywhere to wait out of the rain.
When building work commences Shore Street will be blocked by delivery lorries with drivers not willing to wait to unload and lose their bonus payments.
When the new hotel opens, Oban will be clogged with traffic as no parking spaces for staff have been planned and there are not enough spaces for the number of visitor rooms.
On top of this will be the usual problems of Audi and BMW drivers being allowed to double park and block Shore Street completely.
I appreciate I might be wrong, of course, but perhaps our council members will each put up £25,000 as a surety and if Shore Street is blocked, then this will be paid to Oban Community Fund?
