Caledonian Marts sold 418 store hoggets, feeding ewes and cast tups and three store and five OTM cattle at their sale .
A smaller show of store sheep proving harder to sell, however continental breeds were easily sold.

Stirling Tuesday January 17. Caledonian Marts had forward 2,460 prime hoggets, ewes and tups.
Overall sale average for 2,045 sold was 162.6p (-2.6ppkg on the week).
Top price of the day went to a lamb donated for Orchid Testicular Cancer Awareness at £100, purchased by A Argo, North Burn, Lockerbie. Top price per kilo went to Doune Farms, West Lundie, Doune, at 198ppkg for a pen of 5 Beltex x lambs at 46kg.

Also forward were 370 cast ewes averaging £49.24. The trade was slightly easier on the week again. Good cast ewes are still selling away well. 120 Heavy Ewes
averaged £65.82. 217 Export Ewes averaged £40.10. Tups averaged £42.14, selling to £110 for a Texel from A MacGregor, Allanfauld, Kilsyth.
