Oban BJJ’s timetable for 2017 begins on Mondays at 7.30 with an hour and a half of drilling technique and positional sparring.

Tuesdays at 7.30 is ‘open mat’ where you can drill positions and gain more mat time.

Friday is a beginner’s class where basic concepts and positions are drilled from Marcos Nardini’s white belt curriculum.

The club also have a seminar once a month with 2nd degree BJJ black belt Marcos Nardini. Club coach Coogie Potter says: ‘Our goals this year are to continue to teach and spread the word of BJJ for everyone focusing on technique beating strength.

‘We also would like to build up on our competition entries and add new members to our team and substantial medal tally.

‘You do not have to be fit to start and all our regular members have lost a substantial amount of weight through the highly addictive martial art. Anyone wanting to see what we do is always welcome to come and watch or join in’.
