A LUXURY hotel and seafood restaurant in Argyll, which offers tranquil seaside accommodation, has been awarded four-star gold status by VisitScotland.
The Pierhouse Hotel has achieved the grading under the national tourism organisation’s Quality Assurance Scheme which recognises businesses that meet and exceed the high standards expected by guests.
The gold part of the QA award represents the continuing attainment of outstanding customer service and hospitality over a number of years.
The Pierhouse originally started life as the 19th-century residence of the Pier Master, who was responsible for overseeing the cargo and passenger traffic travelling up and down Loch Linnhe.
Now in their 11th year at the Pierhouse, owners Nick and Nikki Horne have created a hotel which offers a personal and relaxed family atmosphere featuring 12 en suite rooms with luxury bedding, modern amenities and stunning sea and garden views.
Guests can also enjoy the cozy residents’ lounge with a wood-burning stove and the Ferry Bar, with one of the highlights being a large range of malt whiskies.
As well as offering lunches and dinners in the Ferry Bar, the hotel’s restaurant serves the finest Scottish seafood.
Located on the shores of Loch Linnhe in the village of Port Appin, the Pierhouse Hotel, also has a Taste Our Best award for its use of local and quality Scottish produce and received the Independent Hoteliers Award for 2016 at the recent Scottish Hotel Awards.
