POLICE in Fort William are appealing for witnesses in connection with a road accident, writes reporter Ellie Forbes.

Around 3pm on Tuesday August 16 a red Mercedes car was damaged while parked unattended in Castle Drive, Fort William.

A small white vehicle was seen near to the Mercedes before driving away.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward by contacting police on 101.

Information can be given anonymously by using crime stoppers 0800 555111.

Police would also like to highlight that failing to report a road traffic collision within 24 hours does constitute as an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can lead to prosecution.
