TWO pensioners have been injured, one seriously, during an incident in Fort William yesterday evening (July 19).

Police Scotland have soban times logoaid: ‘A 49-year-old man has been detained in custody in connection with the incident.’


Police also confirmed a weapon was involved, but would not say what type.

Emergency services attended the address in Caol around 8:30pm where a man in his 70s was then transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Following treatment a woman in her 60s was discharged from Belford Hospital.

Police Scotland said: ‘The public in the local community are thanked for their patience and understanding whilst the matter was dealt with by officers.’

The injured man is understood to be in a critical, but stable condition.
