03/04 /16 – Mountain Rescue incident on Ben Cruachan. 50 yr old male and 52yr old male rescued after traced by Oban Mountain Rescue, Police Scotland Mountain Rescue and Coastguard search activity. One male was airlifted to the RAH hospital with minor injuries.


01/04/16 – 66yr old male tourist from Dumfries was reported missing on the island of Colonsay. Following a Coastguard search and support by Police Scotland and the Islay lifeboat the male was found with serious injuries having sustained a fall. He was airlifted to the RAH hospital where he is presently recovering.


27/03/16 – 54yr old male was arrested and reported for a racially aggravated breach of the peace, assault, licensing offences, police assault and resist arrest following an incident at the Columba Hotel, Oban. The circumstances have been reported to the PF.

02/04/16  – 16yr old male was arrested for possession of controlled drugs namely ecstasy with the intention of supply, having been stopped coming off the Glasgow train at Oban. He appeared from custody at Oban Sheriff Court.


Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of an attempt to steal 2 lambs from Dunolliebeg farm, Connell Rd, Oban. The incident occurred about 1520hrs on 03/04/16. The male responsible is described as approx. 6ft, medium build, dark brown hair, with glasses wearing a black jacket, light coloured shirt and dark jeans. The male appeared heavily intoxicated and was also gesticulating and shouting at passing motorists. If anyone has any information – contact via 101.
