home safety fire visits ObanMembers of the public are being urged by Scottish Fire and Rescue to arrange free home fire safety visits.

The visits involve officers looking over individual properties asking questions and answering queries about fire safety, checking smoke detectors are working and are where they should be, and discussing a fire safety plan.

Martin Hill, station manager at Oban community fire station, explained: ‘We recognise people want to enjoy themselves  over the festive period, but we are asking them to be mindful for their safety.’
