A landslide on Christmas day on the A890 Stromeferry bypass has closed the road in both directions .
Highland Council is aware of the situation and workers are trying to clear the site as a matter of urgency but it is thought the road could remain closed for three to four days.
The diversion of nearly 150 miles sees northbound traffic diverted via A832 to Gorstan, A835 to Tor Roundabout, A9 to Inverness, A82 to Invermorriston, A887 to Bun Loyne, A87 to return to A890 at Auchtertyre. The southbound diversion is the reverse.
The Stromeferry bypass was closed on December 22 last year (pictured) after a landslide and wasn’t opened again until May 2012.
