Seven months after it was supposed to open for NHS treatment,Oban’s new dental hospital remains unoccupied –but not for long,officials have claimed.
While the facility at the Lorn and Islands Hospital opened for referrals in September last year,there has been little indication of when general NHS appointments would be offered.

Junior doctors in Oban were oblivious to the disruption their barbecue 50 yards from Lorn and Islands Hospital’s helipad would cause when they fired it up.
An in-coming air ambulance helicopter saw the smoke and decided to divert with their patient to Oban Airport at North Connel for safety reasons.
