 Comments are closed  Video News  Argyllshire Gathering,athletics,dancing,games,heavy events,Oban,parade,piping,video ORGANISERS of the inaugural Lorne Highland Games have strongly denied accusations that the event has been set up to compete with the established Argyllshire Gathering. The Argyllshire Gathering’s Oban Highland Games,which is presided over by the Duke of Argyll,took place on August 25 2011,with a large crowd gathered at Mossfield Stadium to see the heavy and light athletic events,dancing,piping,Oban High School Pipe Band,children’s athletics and all the side shows and stalls. The sun shone on the Argllshire Gathering as the parade left Station Square in Oban and marched to Oban Highland Games at Mossfield on August 25 2011. Leading the pipe band was gathering gold medal winner,Callum Beaumont,Bo’ness (far left) ,followed by persident of the games the Duke of Argyll and his stewards and members of the public. |
